team trybal

Originally from St. Louis, Brian is a lifelong camper and experienced camp director. Camp Sabra is his camp “home,” where he spent 10 summers, climbing the ranks from camper to assistant director. He then ventured off the beaten path to work for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, running their Kid’s Program, before returning to the Jewish camping world. Brian has staffed 11 Birthright Israel trips, and also served as the Director of University of Missouri’s Hillel. Brian graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in Journalism, offering skills he puts to good use in each Trybal Tribune article. Sports, running and traveling are Brian’s true passions, as well as all things Color War! Brian and his beautiful wife reside in Los Angeles.

Growing up in Denver, Colorado, Mark hasn’t missed a summer at camp since 1998 when he was a first-time camper at Shwayder Camp. After receiving his degree in Human Development and family studies from Colorado State University, he spent a year volunteering as a tour guide in Israel. Mark continued to pursue his career in Jewish Education. He went on to serve as the Director of Youth Engagement at Congregation Beth El, outside of Boston, and then at Temple Rodef Shalom, in Northern Virginia. Most recently, he returned to the camping world as the Assistant Director at Camp Interlaken in Wisconsin. Currently, Mark resides in Milwaukee with his wife, Hannah, and their dog, Boomer.
