Based at Camp Young Judaea (CYJ) Texas in Wimberley, TX, this all-inclusive getaway is situated on 240 rolling acres shaded by oak groves in the heart of Hill Country. Just an hour away from Austin, camp features a refreshingly cool 5-acre lake, three waterslides, and a tree house canopy designed to incite adventure-seekers. Our Texas getaway offers specialty experiences not found at any other Trybal event, including a Mexican-themed Shabbat dinner with a mariachi band (the proper way to celebrate Shabbat on Cinco de Mayo) to an optional Tough Mudder race on the last day. Toss in our menu of creative programs and you’ll spend a blissful weekend connecting with new friends while disconnecting from the real world. This experience is yours to make what you want of it.

You’ll get to customize each day by choosing from dozens of classic and out-of-the-box camp activities. While we encourage you to try something new, you're in charge of your own schedule. This weekend is yours to relax and recharge the way you want. A typical experience may include:

LODGING

We offer two housing options for the weekend, including traditional cabins and an upgrade option for a private room in CYJ Texas's new retreat center.

CABINS

These Texas-style cabins are included in the registration fee. Cabins accommodate 14-20 people. You can opt for co-ed or same-gender housing. Groups of 8+ can request to have their own private cabin.

RETREAT CENTER

The Namaste Center was built in 2013, offering superior rooms for those wanting a little extra R+R. There is an additional fee per person to stay in the Namaste Center. All rooms are double or single occupancy.

Namaste Includes:

  • One queen bed + a twin or bunk beds

  • Private bathrooms

  • Individually controlled heat and A/C

  • Access to shared lounge space

Tough Mudder is a 5-12 mile mud and obstacle course designed to test your physical strength, stamina, & mental grit. It’s a group challenge that emphasizes teamwork, camaraderie, & accomplishing something almost as tough as you are.

Trybal has partnered with Tough Mudder Central Texas exclusively for our Hill Country camp. This optional add-on is the ultimate finale to an epic weekend. As teammates, we’ll offer helping hands, extra votes of confidence, and be there for each other every step of the way through the finish line.

GETTING TO CAMP

CYJ Texas is located in Wimberley, TX:

  • 1 hour from Austin

  • 1.5 hours from San Antonio

  • 3.5 hours from Houston

  • 4 hours from Dallas

It's free to park at CYJ Texas. We encourage people to carpool with one another to camp. Whether you have four extra seats or need to hitch a ride, we'll help coordinate by sending out a ride-share document after registration.

Timing: Check in is from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm on Thursday, May 4. Camp ends at 1:00 pm on Sunday, May 7. In extenuating circumstances and with advanced notice, you can arrive late or leave early, but program fees cannot be prorated. Tough Mudder start time on Sunday May 7 will be announced early spring.

Terms & Conditions: All prices are listed per person. Additional Eventbrite registration fees apply. All sales are final.  Reservations can be transferred within a 12 month window if requested with at least two months notice. Enrollment is subject to availability.
